Transport

Betamindes can provide transport or private arrangements if preferred.

If using Betamindes transport, the time to be ready for in a morning is 9.15am and departure time home from 4pm onwards unless informed otherwise.

• We will consider ways to make the journey to and from the day care centre as enjoyable as possible and minimise disorientation and anxiety
• We will endeavour to make the person travelling to day care feel safe and supported
• We will ensure the driver knows the area and plans the quickest route
• Pick up times will be kept as regular as possible
• When staff call to collect the person attending they will introduce themselves and tell them where they are going
• Social interaction and also reminiscence of the area and places passing will be the topic of conversation whilst travelling
• Reassurance will be given to anyone anxious and worried
• Transport staff will report any difficulties of changes observed to ensure the individuals needs are met
